Teresa Doty
Teresa Vondrak-Doty, the youngest of six children, was born and raised in the budding metropolis of Sioux City, IA
where she competed in many dance competitions and was crowned with such titles as, “Corn Queen” and “Snow Queen”. Taking a
break from the Iowa dance scene, she moved to Kansas City, MO and attended Rockhurst University where she earned a
degree in Political Science, Philosophy and Communication, but still continued to dance as a “Rockhurst Rockette”. She
worked for U.S. Congressman Sam Graves and for the General Services Administration, until deciding that instead of the
song and dance of politics, she would take on the song and dance of managing her husband’s Chiropractic office, and
staying home to dance with her 5 beautiful children: Matthew James (12), Alexander Philip (9), Elena Marie (6),
Thomas Michael (4) and George William (1 ½). She and husband Dr. Brad are also part owners of Brain Balance Achievement
Center in Overland Park, KS, a therapy center for children with neurological disorders. She is also actively involved
with “F.I.R.E.” (the Foundation for Inclusive Religious Education) in the Kansas City-St. Joseph Diocese, a member of
”The Kansas City Mayor’s Council for People with Disabilities”, and with “STM For All”, a ministry at St. Thomas More
School that supports their Inclusive Education program. “STM For All” is who Teresa is dancing for and representing
through this event, she is very thankful for this opportunity as funds raised by “STM For All” benefit her son Alex,
who has Autism, and many other children in attending St. Thomas More School along with their siblings and friends.
She is very thankful to the Anselmo family and the BMA Foundation for all the important work that they do with the
children’s charities that they support. A special thank you too to all her family and friends for their love and
support as she and her family make their special dance along the road of Autism, and for all their support of
Inclusive Education at St. Thomas More School.
